Marin County Parks: Salmon of San Geronimo Valley

Salmon of San Geronimo Valley

Tuesday, December 21, 2021, 10am – 12pm

This walk is for ages 18 and up.
Each year, several species of Pacific salmon migrate up certain creeks to breed. We’ll look for evidence of fish as we discuss the biology of these remarkable animals. The timing of these activities is subject to numerous environmental variables, but if we're lucky we might have a chance to observe spawning activity. It can be quite cold by the creek so bring warm clothing; also, polarized glasses are helpful to see the fish better.

Remember to bring binoculars if you have them. We request that no pets (except service animals) attend.

Adverse weather or Air Quality Index (AQI) that exceeds 150 on AirNow.gov may cancel events. Check the calendar or call (415) 473-6086 after 8 am on the morning of the event to hear a recorded message if canceled.

Registration is not required. For more information contact, Shannon Burke at SBurke@marincounty.org.
