About this event

Join our partners from Blue Waters Kayaking for this guided kayak trip through the magnificently restored Giacomini Wetlands.

In 2008, 550 acres were purchased from the National Park Service and a fifty year old levee was removed to restore natural tidal flows to the Giacomini wetlands. The largest intact tidal marsh along the California Coast, Giacomini teems with eel grass beds, and is a nursery for halibut, bat rays, leopard sharks and a variety of land, water and shore birds. It is a life force of marine life that is crucial to the greater San Francisco Bay. Come see what is revealed as we paddle through this abundant ecosystem!

We will meet at the White House Pool parking lot. After organizing gear and reviewing basic kayaking instructions and safety procedures, we'll launch our kayaks and paddle into the wetlands.

All guided tours are in tandem closed deck sea kayaks. Our double kayaks track well, are difficult to capsize, and are easy to maneuver. All the necessary gear such as life jackets, paddles, and spray skirts is provided.

Participants must register in pairs.

We’ll go rain or shine.
