October 20, 2023 at 9:00 am
Members at the Watershed Sentinel-level and above are invited to join Avian Ecologist Scott Jennings and expert kayaking guides from Blue Waters Kayaking for a half-day kayak tour of Tomales Bay.
Lunch and kayaks provided. Experienced and new kayakers (ages 12+) comfortable on the water are welcome.
Received an invitation? RSVP here > by October 9. Space is limited. (Rain date: October 28)
With surface waters at their seasonal warmest and thousands of migratory birds beginning to arrive for the winter, we will look for evidence of the birds, mammals, and fish that move through Tomales Bay, discussing the ecology of the region and the partnerships working to understand and mitigate the impacts of sea level rise.
Paddling over hypnotic eelgrass beds, which play an important role in the carbon cycle as well as provide critical habitat for many different species, we will hear updates from Scott about our conservation science work to support these ecologically and culturally important habitats.
