Grilled Sausages

4 lbs. assorted cooked sausages (bockwurst, garlic sausage, bratwurst, chicken sausage, etc.)
8 large sesame-seed rolls (optional)
Accompaniments (optional): Grainy mustard or Dijon mustard, sauerkraut, caramelized onions.

Cut the sausages in half lengthwise. Grill on medium-high heat grill face down for several minutes to get some nice grill marks, and turn over for several more minutes. If you don't have a grill, you can fry or broil them.

Cut rolls in half diagonally. Roll should be long enough to hold a sausage with just a little sausage peeking out when cut diagonally. Grill rolls face down until lightly browned and slightly crispy. Serve sausages on a large platter in a heap. Serve rolls on the side.
