Guided hike: Limantour Marsh with Marin CNPS

Leader: Ann Elliott

Please sign up for this field trip on Meetup.

Hike the Limantour Marsh and foredune from 3 pm to 5 pm and/or join us at 7 pm for a sunset picnic.  Explore the Limantour Marsh at low tide and become more familiar with saltmarsh plants and habitats. View the colorful patterns of vegetation at different levels of inundation. After wandering in the Marsh, we will head toward the beach to explore the inner dune area. Coyote brush should be in full bloom. We can compare female and male plants as well as sub species.

Picnic:  Brave souls will reconvene on the beach for a picnic dinner. If weather permits, we will have a beach fire and s’mores for dessert.

Relevant Plant List:  LIMANTOUR ESTERO, PT. REYES NATIONAL SEASHORE

If you have not yet done so this year, please sign the Waiver for Marin Chapter 2024.  Field trip limit of 25.

Directions: Meet at Limantour Beach Trailhead

Bring: Layers and shoes you don’t mind getting wet, optional picnic (no glass) and hiking poles.
